Common questions
Does filedup upload my documents?
No. Documents are processed on your iPhone. They are not transmitted to filedup servers. Account metadata such as vault names is synced; document content is not.
What file types are supported?
PDF, JPG, PNG and HEIC photos taken on iPhone. Text is extracted from images, screenshots and scanned documents on-device.
Is filedup legal, tax or financial advice?
No. filedup organises documents — it is not advice. Extracted fields are first-pass and may contain errors. You review and verify everything before relying on it.
How accurate is field extraction?
Accurate enough to save you the typing, never accurate enough to skip your review. Every field is editable. Confidence is shown per field. The final record is yours.
Can I share documents with someone without an account?
Yes. Generate a password-protected link with an expiry date. Recipients see only what you chose to share. The bundle is auto-deleted from our relay when the link expires.
What happens if I cancel?
Export your data as JSON or PDF first. Documents stay on your iPhone regardless — there is nothing on our servers to lose.
Where is filedup available?
Consumer plans launch first in Singapore, the United States, Australia and Canada. Enterprise self-hosted deployments are available globally, including the EU and the UK.
What can't I store in filedup?
For your safety and ours, our Terms prohibit uploading health records, government identification numbers (e.g. SSN, NRIC, passport numbers), banking credentials and certain other regulated categories. See our Terms for the full list.
